How to Start a Landscaping Business with ZERO Startup Money | Find Financial Freedom Right Now

The best thing in the world is financial freedom. The best way to get it is to start your own business. Although it is easy to just say hey start your own business and you will have all the money you could want, but we all know that’s not quite how it works. Starting your own business is hard, but it is also rewarding if you put the work in. The one thing holding most people back is that they feel like they need to have a ton of money saved up to start their own business. This could not be further from the truth.

I have personally built my six-figure landscaping business from the ground up so that I did not have to keep living paycheck to paycheck at my miserable 9-5. I want you to get out of the hell loop of a 9-5 so with everything I have learned in my six years in the field, here is how you can start your own landscaping business right now with zero start-up money (step by step).

The ExMark Zero-Turn Riding Lawn Mower Series

In my opinion, ExMark makes some of the best zero-turn lawnmowers on the market. Personally, I have used their products for well over a decade, and after seeing the quality of their most recent mowers, I do not see that changing anytime soon. I have been using the ExMark Radius X-Series for a while now and I wanted to lay out everything I like about this mower for those of you looking into buying a new zero-turn mower.

ExMark has three mowers in this series, the E, S, and X. Between all three of these models and their customizations, there is one for everyone. Whether you are a homeowner with a medium to a large yard, or just starting out your lawn care business, or are a larger lawn care company, I highly suggest these ExMark mowers, plus they are super fun. They are even doing a giveaway in 2021 that you can learn more about here

What I Like About My ExMark Radius X-Series

There are a lot of great things about this mower and I could honestly go on for hours, but here...

Your First Year in a Lawncare Business

Life can suck, but the best way to take control of your life is to have financial stability.

Starting your own business can be the ticket to this dream, although it is risky, if you put in the work it is very rewarding.

Your first year of creating your own landscaping business can be scary and incredibly hard. So I wrote a book about how to crush your first year in lawn care.

Here I am going to go over the high points of it and try my best to put your mind at ease. If you like what I have to say, consider checking out the full book here

No Money? No Problem

No matter how much (or how little) money you have, you can start your own landscaping business.

First and foremost what you need to do is buy a truck. It does not matter what kind of truck and it does not matter how expensive it is, or if it has 200,000 miles and is a bucket of rust.

That kind of truck will do just fine, so if you don't have a truck or if you have a car keep working until you can afford to...

How to Go Full-Time in Your Lawn Care Business

Anytime someone starts a side hustle, they normally enjoy it. Most people would give anything to make their side hustle their main job, but they are terrified of an uncertain paycheck. It is totally understandable. Millions of people build their simple lives off of a guaranteed paycheck each and every week, but some of those people work ten times as hard when they are off the clock. If you are pouring your heart and soul into a side hustle, why would you not want to take it on as your full-time job? As you will soon find out, money is not the problem. Once you lay the foundation of a successful business, it is easy to expand it and make more money than you ever thought possible.

Fear of Losing Guaranteed Money

I get it, getting a guaranteed paycheck every week is comforting. It takes a special kind of fate to throw away what is a sure thing for something that is volatile. It is even scarier when you have people that depend on you financially, but once you break it down, it is...

How to Get More Customers in Your Lawn Care Business

Everybody with a new lawn care business has one main fear, running out of clients. It is easy to think to yourself, “oh how on earth am I going to find more work?” or “There is no way I will get this neighborhood’s business instead of my competitor”. Well, I am here to tell you that with just a few easy steps, you can get your name out there in front of thousands of customers. If you can follow these easy steps, your phone will be ringing off the hook before you know it.

Totally Under Your Control

The first thing you need to understand is that the amount of work you get is completely up to you. It is easy to think that work is nearly random or hard to get, but if you can put in the effort to search for it, work will come easy. Just think of how many neighborhoods there are, there are thousands of people begging to find a lawn care company that is reliable, does good work, and can form a long term relationship. All you have to do is get out there...

You Are Never Going to Run Out of Work | Keith Kalfas

If you are new to running your own business or are just a few years in, there seems to always be this fear that if you let up just a little, you will start losing business or stop getting new clients. This is especially the case for landscapers. If you are just starting on your own or maybe just have a few guys, there is an overbearing feel that if you do not go 110% all the time, that you will not be able to sustain yourself or the business. Well, I am here to tell you that if you structure your business correctly and learn a few key skills, the jobs will never stop coming in.

Survival Mode

Many times, new and experienced landscapers alike will take nearly any job they can find whether it is well paying or not. They have this thought that if they do not take whatever jobs they can, that they will not be able to find any jobs at all and will not make any profit for the day. This is when entrepreneurs take anything and everything they can just in the hopes that they can...

How "Saturday Finances" Changed My Life

Are you struggling to run your business financially? Is debt following every move you make? Do you worry about how to handle your finances every time you walk into a dealership to make a purchase?

Here's how "Saturday Finances" has changed my life (and how it can change your life too!).

What is the concept behind "Saturday Finances"?

The idea behind Saturday Finances is simple. You dedicate a set time each week to your finances. For me, it's Saturday morning.

I've never missed it in the four years since I started Saturday Finances.

You create a system for doing your business finances. I use an app called Google Tasks, which helps me keep my...
